I first saw Eric Zener's work last year at the Gallery Henoch. There was a whole exhibit on it. When I went back recently, I was pleasantly happy to see some new work. Frankly I was just happy to see his work again.
Because of the pool subject matter, the scale and the realistically painted work ( although there is plenty of art that I love that is abstract), this is close to being my favorite current artist.

Chelsea Galleries-Silke Schöner
I just loved this work. It can be seen at the Dillon Gallery. Silke Schöner also has a great web page, where much more of her work can be seen. I've decided to pull some of her work off the web, as my images of her work are just of atrocious quality.

Chelsea Galleries - Laurent Dauptain
This work by Laurent Dauptain was displayed at the same gallerie as Brian Keith Stephens's, at the Axelle Fine Arts.
Once again my photos don't give the work justice. The pieces are quite large and I like the close up especially of the body and the hat. The hat would make a great piece to hang in the living room. It would definitely be suited more for a space with high ceilings.
Generally I should pay more attention to the size and names of the pieces, but there is something just inspiring and relaxing of going from gallery to gallery and enjoying the pieces just hanging there. Just them being there, without the analysis or guide as to what it is ( such as the title) from the artist or anyone else.

Chelsea Galleries-Brian Keith Stephens
I spent the afternoon with my friend going through the some galleries in Chelsea ( NY ). Normally we would start at 25th street and walk our way through till about 20th street. Today however, we only made it past to 24th. It was still very rewarding. Lots of inspirational work out there. My photos do absolutely no justice to the work, in fact they just make it look pretty bad.
Brian Keith Stephens can currently be seen at Axelle Fine Arts.

Scenic Photography
I came across these photographs by Lidka and Marcin Sacha. The website is in Polish, but the site should be simple enough navigate even for those who don't understand this language.
I find these images very calming.

Inbetween
I have been busy with work and house things, which explains my lack of posting lately. Hopefully by the weekend I will be back more in full swing, and not like right now, half asleep.
So for now I'll just share this lovely wallart, made out of baskets, by Stephen Falcke . I have not had the time to really take a closer look at his website. Once again, because I am half asleep, and perhaps because everything on there just takes a while ( too long) to load up (he should consider talking to his website designers to fix this problem), but what little I have seen, the modern/contemporary section of his portfolio looks interesting and inspiring enough for me to come back to it in the near future.

Alphabet Drawer
KENT AND LONDON sells this to die for alphabet drawer. For us typography/interior design lovers, this is close to perfection. The flaw once again is the price tag.

a bit more reasonable chairs
another chair
Every chair that I find, that I really like, is completely out of the price range. Like this one from Neiman Marcus
